Hello friends and family! Bethany here. If you’re on this webpage, then you probably know something of the situation I’m in. It has recently become evident that my kids and I needed to separate from my husband for our own well-being. This is never something that any individual or family wants to go through, so I’ve kept it discreet and hope that you will too.
The thing is, our separation has come at a critically poor time, financially speaking. I’ll be banging down the door of every resource available to moms in my situation to make this work. But those things take time, and I am really strapped for the liquid cash I need to cover immediate needs like a divorce filing fee, a deposit for a new apartment and possibly new locks for my doors. Rather than set up a crowdfunding page, which charges its own fees, I’ve provided to link directly to my Venmo. My Venmo has never been touched by my husband and he will have no access to the funds. They’ll go directly into the new bank account I’ve set up to support me and my kids.
Other than the money, I mostly need and appreciate all the emotional support I have been offered during this time. This decision wasn’t an easy one to make, and it has also proven difficult to stick to. My immediate future is clouded in uncertainty, but I am certain of one thing: I have the best people behind and beside me. Even though I’ve felt displaced, defeated and discouraged, I have never felt hopeless. I’ve always had someone in my corner and for that I am so grateful. Thank you for caring for me and my kids in our time of most desperate need.
